Seafarers Wages Council gets greenlight

 

The Seafarers’ Wages Council was inaugurated in a public ceremony organized by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) and the Ministry of Labour and Social protection in Kilifi County on April 4th, 2025. Ten (10) members of the Seafarers’ Wages Council were instated in the presence of maritime industry stakeholders by Hon. Hassan Ali Joho, Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs  and Dr. Alfred Mutua, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. Mr. Shadrack Mwadime, Principal Secretary for Labour and skills development and Hon. Geoffrey Kaituko, outgoing Principal Secretary for the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, were also present to welcome the new team
